Deathchase 3D

Deathchase 3D

Game Homepage
Avoid the trees and shoot the bad guys ahead of you.

Deathchase 3D is a remake of the Spectrum game of the same name, which is itself based on the sequence in "Return of the Jedi" chasing Stormtroopers through the forests of Endor on light-speeders. It's a fake perspective 3D game: avoid the trees and shoot the bad guys ahead of you. It uses the SDL library. It is written for Linux but should run on anything SDL supports.

DeathTruckTion v1.0

Game Homepage
A 3D multi-player network game involving Cars, Pickups and a bit of mayhem

DeathTruckTion v1.0 is a multiplayer 3D network game put together by TNTeam.

BTW, my school project is finished... it's a "crappy" 3D game using OpenGL, SDL (and of course JEDI-SDL with Delphi and Kylix :-), FMod and Indy (network components for server and client), which works great under Windows and Linux. The game itself is not interesting, but maybe the source is :). I have no idea about the license, because I am using graphics from other games which is not quite legal anyway. Since I didn't figure out how to upload the (source) file to the yahoogroup thingy, I _temporarily_ uploaded it here.
Basically you can do whatever you want with the code... but I don't think it's a good demo for JEDI-SDL, it may be a little bit too complex for a demo :). Anyway, if you find something interesting in it you are free to use it in your own projects, or release some part like you want. For those who are trying to do some 3D with Delphi/OpenGL, the TNT-3D engine might be interesting... but it's completely undocumented. If someone wants to write a tutorial about it or something like that I will explain the inner working of the engine :)
Clem does not have any time to continue developing the game and engine so I suggested he create a SourceForge account so that others who may be interested can develop the game, engine change the textures etc further. The current homepage of the TNTeam and it's demo can be found @ http://dtt.spinet.org and you can cop a look at some screen shots @ http://deathtrucktion.spinet.org/screenshots.php.

If anyone finds this interesting or would like to lead such a project, please let me know so we can set up a project of sorts for people to get involved in.
BTW. If you are going to play with the demo make sure there is a game server running (either locally or at your friends house) before trying to connect with the game client.

License: free

Additional System Requirements: On Linux you will need the QT/Kylix library found on the Downloads page. Also make sure you have SDL verions 1.2.0 or hight on both Windows or Linux

Debian vs Pimientos

Debian vs Pimientos

Game Homepage
A funny arcade in which you have to kill peppers using the logo of Debian.

Debian vs Pimientos is an arcade game developed using the SDL libraries SDL, SDL_image, SDL_mixer, and SDL_ttf. This permits the portability of the game to some systems and machines.
It is the first game of NEOPONTEC Games, and the first to use the NGT Toolkit, developed by Hector Blanco (me) which uses the mentioned SDL Libraries.

The game concept is very easy to understand and to play. There are a lot of peppers (pimientos is the spanish word for peppers) that are flying by the sky, and you, armed with the Debian logo must fight them. The Debian logo shoots GNU heads to kill these devil pimientos :D.

That's all. Fly and kill these horrible peppers!!!

License: free

Additional System Requirements: The following libraries: SDL, SDL_image, SDL_mixer, SDL_ttf and its dependencies. in Linux for running and compiling the game from sourcecode, and in Windows for compiling the game from sourcecode. The binary package requires the 2.0 version of the SDL_ttf library.

Defcon

Defcon

Game Homepage
The World's first Genocide 'em up

It's Global Thermonuclear War, and nobody wins.
But maybe - just maybe - you can lose the least.

DEFCON is an online, competitive, multiplayer strategy game based around the theme of global thermonuclear war. The game, inspired by the 1983 cult-classic Wargames, superbly evokes the tension, paranoia and suspicion surrounding the Cold War era. The player assumes the role of a General hidden deep within an underground bunker, his mission being to successfully exterminate the enemy’s civilian population whilst simultaneously disabling the enemy’s ability to retaliate. Desperate attempts must be made to form fast, tactical alliances - alliances that may at any moment break-down to become treacherous and very deadly betrayals.

DEFCON was an instantaneous success with the gaming press, receiving an average of 85%+ in game reviews and scores of praise. PC Gamer UK described it as 'pure, deep, utterly unconscionable fun', while IGN awarded DEFCON an Editors Choice Award and praised it as 'highly impressive'.

Defeat in Detail 2

Game Homepage
Open source, multi-platform RTS

The near future.

A future that has been swamped by war.

Two titanic armies, a terror collective and a decadent coalition, fight for control of the world's oil supply. In a world dependant on fuel, where black gold has become worth more than yellow, it is certainly worth more than men's lives.

On battlegrounds across the world, commanders send men to death or glory.

You are now one of these commanders, and it is upon your decisions that men's lives now depend. Gain a victory and you will be hailed a great hero, suffer defeat and your grave will be unmarked and forgotten.

History is written by the victors.

Defeat in Detail 2 is a standalone RTS game based on the the DarkPlaces engine.
