KCheckers is the KDE version of the classic boardgame "checkers". This game is also known as "draughts".

KDrill stands for "Kanji Drill". It's both a quiz and a program to help people learn kanji and kana (the Japanese charater set). It also doubles as a dictionary lookup program. Kdrill runs under the X window GUI system.

Keyano is a graphical front end for popular Unix applications such as play, aplay, festival, and fortune. It has the ability to turn your PC into a audio/visual sampler that works similar to samplers now in use by DJs. It also includes vocal dictionary and text reader capabilities, as well as a spelling Tutorial and an early version of a chatter bot (in alphabet mode you can: type "A B C" and it says them out loud while it shows letters on screen).

KGoldrunner is a simple game where you control a green figure to collect all goldnuggets per level and escape to the top. That would be very easy, if there were no enemies which try to catch you. The difficulty is that you havn't any weapon to kill them directly. Your only chance is to run away or to dig a hole in the bricks where enemies can fall in. After a few seconds a captured enemy climb out of the hole, but if the hole closed befor he dies and will be born again at his birthplace. There are three kinds of bricks. Normal bricks, where you can dig holes and walk over. Then there are beton bricks, which are "undigable" and at last there are bricks on which the figures cant stand and they will fall through them if they walk over.

Goal of the game is to move the biggest token to a specific position. For beginners a tutorial and solution hint is available. The game is visible as a 3-dimensional model with different camera positions, all movements including the menus are physically calculated.

Different themes like wood, rock, metal, marble, bubbles or painting are available. They both influence the display and the sound effects. Ambient and Drum & Bass music from Nifflas (www.nifflas.com) give the game a unique athmosphere.
