T-Sim

T-Sim Screenshot Helicopter Simulator

This is an early version of a helicopter simulator for GNU/Linux.
It already has random terrain generation, a 3D cockpit view with working instruments and an external view. The flight model, however, is still very simplistic.

T1 Car Racing Simulation

T1 Car Racing Simulation

Game Homepage
Open source 3D car racing simulation

T1 Car Racing Simulation is an open source (GPL) 3D car racing game meant to be executable under both Linux and Windows using the Cygwin emulation layer. If you make it run under some other operating systems, I'd be glad to hear about it. My primary development platform is Linux, but I promise to also test under Windows - at least at release times.

T1 Car Racing Simulation is primarily meant to be fun to play, instead of a full-featured exercise in physics. Expect a solid physics model with a lot of action and some cool graphics. ;-)

TA Spring

TA Spring

Game Homepage
TA Spring is a project to (re)create the best RTS ever.

TA Spring is a project to create the best RTS (engine) ever.

Spring is a full 3D RTS game engine, designed, in it's basis, to be able to run the content of the game Total Annihilation and deliver a similar, but improved, gaming experience.
Games can be intense and very large scaled, with fight of, literally, hundreds of unit and the mods allow very wide arrays of diferent strategies and tactics.

    Spring features:
  • Online battling service, allowing you to log into an online server and arrange matches with other people.
  • Top of the line managment features, like the ability to give queues of orders to units, as well as unassigning them, place rows of buildings, set factories to infinite orders, units to repeating orders (like transporters with permanent load/unload orders), as well as drawing on the maps in game and placement of markers with or without text.
  • Full 3D with shadows, reflective water, reflective units, deformable terrain, 4 diferent camera styles, ability to control First Person View your units and other grafical goodness. You will also be able to fight on land, on air, on water and under water.
  • Replays! The game has a built-in automatic replay recorder. You can, later, replay the game to see your mistakes or learn from other players. You can even choose to replay a replay you have to a group of friends or clan mates (without them having the replay).
  • Flexible options! You can choose to play alone in Free For All matches, allied with other people or, even, share the same army with other people to help you micro-manage the huge armies and bases. You can choose to have all the players from one alliance to be able to start only in a specific part of the map. There are, also, many other options to choose from before starting a game.
  • Mods and Maps! There are, at least, 7 high profile sets of units (mods) and more than 500 maps available. Many more are beeing worked on, including a new map format.
  • Modding! Many of the tools for creating units for the original Total Annihilation are usable for Spring. Also, there are new tools for map creation and unit creation as well as a few tools which are beeing worked on.
  • Skill! Some of the people who presently play Spring have been playing it's spiritual ancestor, Total Annihilation, for many years now. If you want the ultimate chalenge of skill, fight them.

For single player gaming, the game features the ability to use diferent Artificial Inteligences. It also brings the ability to play «random-enemies scripts» where enemies will spawn according to a script file.

Additional System Requirements: You will most certainly need a 3D graphics card to run TA Spring, which will probably require at least a GeForce 3 (note that a GeForce 4 MX is not better than a GeForce 3) and the latest driver supported. Minimum CPU requirements are a little more complex. A computer with 1.5 GHz CPU and 512 MB of RAM should be able to support most of the comonly settings used.

Tactical Operations: Crossfire

Tactical Operations: Crossfire

Game Homepage
Tactical shooter based on Unreal Tournament 2004

Tactical Operations: Crossfire is a fast paced first person online shooter in which two teams, terrorists and special forces, duke it out in a wide variety of environments with various objectives to accomplish. From rescuing hostages kept in a small desert town in Saudi-Arabia to preventing the bombing of an oil refinery on the Caspian sea shore. There are no less than fourteen official maps to choose from!

Each map is played for a certain amount of time and the team having won the most rounds when the time runs out is declared the winner. A round can be won either by completing the objective set for that team, such as rescueing the hostages, or by simply eliminating all players on the opposite team.

A large number of weapons is avaialable for both teams, which can be purchased by each player at the start of the round. Out of the thirty weapons currently available, there's bound to be a weapon to suit your style of playing, be it either up close and personal with the Benelli Nova tactical shotgun or sneaky sniper work with the Dragunov SVD.

Tactical Operations: Crossfire continues where the popular Tactical Ops: Assault on Terror left off, with many classic weapons returning and remakes of some of the original maps. To play TO:C, you will need Unreal Tournament 2004 installed and patched to the latest version (3369). Tactical Ops: Crossfire can be played on Windows, Linux and Mac systems.

Tactical Rogue

Game Homepage
Tactical Rogue Screenshot Tactical Roguelike.

Tactical Rogue aims to take the best of two very interesting concepts and merge them together, namely, the variety and endlessness of rogue and the strategic elements of Tactics Ogre/Final Fantasy Tactics. Basically this means we'll be autogenerating vast amounts of items, weapons and armors, autogenerating dungeon labyrinths and autogenerating monsters based on set profiles. Then, we will use these autogenerated worlds and enforce a strategical/tactical engine based upon many simply attributes such as speed, movement, agility, strength, dexterity, wisdom, intelligence, hp, mp, level, class and experience. The game will run semi-realtime, in the sense that time progresses until someones wait-time reaches zero allowing them to move/act which will then reset their wait-time to it's maximum value based upon the characters traits and attributes.

The game will be developed under linux using sdl and c++, using .png for graphical storage of sprites and aminations and .ogg (vorbis) for storage of sound effects and music. All files, be it code, music or sprites will be licenced in a license compatible with the GPL, most likely under the GPL.

License: free

Additional System Requirements: The game is written using OpenGL to do 2D drawings, so OpenGL is required to be set up properly.

Tales of Middle Earth

Tales of Middle Earth

Game Homepage
A tile-based dungeon crawler similar to Nethack, Rogue, and Angband.

Tales of Middle Earth (ToME) is a fantasy adventure game, based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. It is a game that emphasizes intricate, challenging, and varied gameplay over graphics. Hundreds of different monsters in randomly-generated, unpredictable dungeons will strive to slay you by various means, and you counter - if you survive - by developing the skills of your choice and wielding mighty artifacts. ToME's races from Hobbit to Troll and classes from Swordmaster to Summoner allow for many different playing styles and a replay value that extends through years.

The only game so realistic that your scrolls and spell books will burn if you trudge in lava (unless you have gained immunity from some armour), you will dry up rivers to cast mighty spells, strike at orcs with blades attuned to slay them specifically, summon armies from a simple totem, and even forge your own artifacts. There is an entire community to help you with the game, and it is far from static - ToME is a developing game, always improving. And best of all, it's free.
