Game Homepage id Software's venerable first true 3d game. This is the Linux version of Quake. You'll need to grab the PAK file from the DOS distribution in order to play it. Don't even think of playing it on anything but a Pentium or a really fast 486 (i.e., something faster than mine). There's also a port to SVGAlib which doesn't require X. If you have a 3Dfx accelerator card, check out GL Quake. As for the looks, well, it looks like Quake. If you haven't seen it yet, do so now. The game itself is your basic kill-them-before-they-kill-you scenario. But you'll probably have a lot of fun anyway. License: shareware
