Lizard

Tile-based graphical interface to NetHack and SlashEM

Lizard is my own personalized variant of the newt interface. It always shares the latest newt codebase while adding a few of my own patches that increase user experience (in my opinion). Lizard is how I play NetHack or Slash'EM.

Additions to Lizard over tha vanilla NE.W.T:
Dark rooms are a different tile to unexplored rooms. So exploring an area like the gnomish mines is much less painful.
Passageways are shown. Passageways on the side of corridors are visible. Again this is a change that allows you to better judge which areas you have not yet explored.
Line of sight, you now have a visible line of sight and are able to easily see which areas might have monsters that you cannot actually see.
Brad's Pit, a minor patch of my own, for amusement value only ;)
Chess Moves, you can set the speed of monster movement as well as player movement. When set to walk each monster will move individually as if you were watching a move for move animated playback of a game of chess.

All of the above mentioned changes work for the tty/console view as well.

Lizards

SVGA Repton clone with sound and built in level editor.

The author describes this as a "clone of Repton from BBC Micro." It's a falling boulders and diamonds game with other oddments such as hatching monster eggs and a level map. It runs in 640x480 on the console, with digitized sounds.

Lode Runner Online

Download Lode Runner Online (Free and legal) from: http://www.daggert.net/todd/Programming/Presage/LodeRunner/Loderunner1.htm
Unzip the archive.
Type wine /path/MMRInstall/SETUP.EXE
Click the 'Install' button
In the "System Test" dialog click 'No'
When prompted with: "We're sorry, but your system does not appear to meet the minimum requirements for Lode Runner Online for Windows 95. However, you can continue the installation if you want." Click 'Yes'
Select the 'Large Install' and click 'OK'
In the "Destination Directory" dialog just Click 'Yes'
After the files have been installed you'll get some error dialogs. Just click 'OK' on all of them. Then click 'No' when prompted to register.
When you're back in the "Main Menu" just click the [X] in the top right corner to exit the program. Run the game with: wine c:sierraloderunnloderunn.exe
