Game Homepage Dedicated server binary for the full retail version of Quake 3 Arena From the README: This binary allows server operators to run a dedicated Linux Quake3 server. It does not have the ability to play the game under Linux. Please order the retail Linux version of the game in order to play under Linux. To use this binary, copy the pak0.pk3 file from your Quake3 CD (any version) and put it in a subdirectory called baseq3. The file structure should be: ./linuxq3ded ./baseq3/pak0.pk3Running the linuxq3ded binary will start up a server--you must also load a map. There are built in configuations as documented in the Quake3 manual on the CD. A sample configuration is: ./linuxq3ded +set dedicated 2 +exec gamecycle.configPlease note that linuxq3ded does want a tty. I recommend using a program like screen to run it "in the background" and allow you to disconnect from the console and reattach it later. License: free
