Crystals of Holy is a Final Fantasy/Dragon Warrior-like shareware RPG game for linux. It is not finished yet, but you can download a fully playable demo to get an idea of what it's going to be like. The current art was taken from Final Fantasy IV and is only serving as a place holder until original art is created. The current art will NOT be in the final version.

The engine offers nearly all concepts of modern online rpgs:
mob aggro ranges, buffs/debuffs, mob pulling, factions, object scripting in python, active target system, item quality & conditions (repair/smithy), resistance/protection system, server sided AE (area effect) spells, skill exp, client sided throw/range control system, group playing, cooperative PvE maps (player can't hurt/block other players), PvP maps (player vs player), permdeath maps (player stay dead on maps until another player resurrect him)...

A new RPG in the old style. Inspired by Bard's Tale, Dragon Wars, Wizardry, etc, this game is turn-based, tile-mapped (90 degree turns, fixed steps forward etc), and largely keyboard driven. It also features OpenGL graphics, ogg music, and other modern frills.

Featuring nine races, 11 classes plus eight sub-classes, tons of original art, original music -- this is a game of profesional scope. Quests, special events, automap, and plenty of hack-and-slash spice the game.

Imagine a cross between such classics as Zelda, Diablo, and Monkey Island (with a tiny dash of South Park) and you'll have a good idea of what to expect from this game.

It is freeware, so you can download the whole game for free. If that weren't enough, some people have made new adventures for the game, called D-Mods. There are tools to create your own adventure, as well as other user-created tools. You can find them at the Dink Network.

Doomdark's Revenge was the sequel to
Lords of Midnight was an epic
adventure game written by Mike
Singleton for the ZX Spectrum
microcomputer (amongst others) in the
early 1980's. With even more locations
(6144) and views (49, 152) than its
predecessor, and a massive 128
characters from 8 races to recruit
from and battle, Doomdark's Revenge
is still extremely playable, highly
addictive and exhibits surprisingly
passable graphics.

The package includes dexe's of both the
original ports and a patched versions
with support for numeric-pad based
movement, a movement-related bugfix,
and two alternative scenarios by Jan
Kapala. Assembler source is also
