Game Homepage Puzzling game of dungeon exploration! Grab your sword and start chopping your way to the bottom of a vast dungeon! Learning how to play is simple--you move Beethro in one of eight directions or rotate his sword clockwise or counter-clockwise. Examine a detailed overhead view of an underground room, and plan Beethro's movements with care, always keeping his sword between him and the critters. You can wait as long as you like before moving, and logical problem-solving is paramount, but the game still has a sense of action as you lay waste to hordes of nasties. Each room of the dungeon is a handcrafted challenge for you to complete, with chambers and corridors purposefully designed to befuddle. In DROD you will find numerous game elements, some of which I can guarantee you've never seen in any other game. There is a huge amount of exploration in wait for you, but if you should complete Dugan's Dungeon or would simply like a break from it, you can also try your hand at architecting your own dungeons with the new level editor. DROD has been praised by many for its originality, and has enjoyed a growing cult following since 1997. If you've never played the game, well... you just have to! If you've already seen it, check out the latest incarnation of this classic puzzler. This is a from-scratch rewrite of the original with years of work put into it by several developers. Game Homepage Fight, explore, and build in this contemplative dungeon puzzler! Swordplay and puzzles combine in this thinking man's dungeon crawl. It's simple to learn, with just a handful of commands to master. But the unique gameplay provides an amazing depth. A detailed overhead view shows monsters, obstacles, and other game elements. You have as much time as you like to contemplate your next move. So this is a good game for relaxing, but also terrifically involving once you get started. You'll be hooked by the story of Beethro and his troublesome nephew, Halph. Our heroes set off on a harmless jaunt, but end up far below the surface, chased by a clownish madman. They begin to uncover a vast, underground bureaucracy, and things only get stranger the further they delve. You've got over 350 rooms ahead--each one a singular challenge for you to conquer. A level editor, online features, open source, and enthusiastic player community make this a game you can play for years. License: shareware ($19.95 (download), $24.95 (CD))

Game Homepage Build virtual robots and make them fight In DroidBattles you design the bots by choosing which hardware they should contain. Each bot can have up to 32 hardware devices that you can choose freely from a list of available types. Examples include weapons, armor, CPU:s, engines... etc. When you have chosen the hardware it's time to program it. You make a program (in an assembler like language) that is loaded into a virtual RAM of the bot and then executed by the CPU device(s) you've included with the bot. You communicate with your devices through simple in/out instruktions. Other features of DroidBattles includes team-battle and set up of "rules" for a game, (you can enable/disable hardware devices and also set the costs). You can make the bot have its own graphics that is shown when the simulation runs. When everyhing is ready you assemble the program and a .bot file is created. You can now test this bot against other bots in the simulator, and hopefully your bot will crush its opponent. License: free

Game Homepage Mechanized combat in the far future From the homepage: DropTeam is a multiplayer capable, real-time, tactical simulation of armored ground combat in the far future. You’ll battle for control of objectives on a broad variety of planets ranging from verdant Earth-like worlds to desolate, radioactive wastelands. You will use Dropship's (see unit list) to land fighting vehicles and other deployable assets like sensors, mines and automated turrets on planetary surfaces. You will take direct control of various types of armored fighting vehicles while also coordinating your team, including AI, other human players, artillery support and more. Vast, exotic landscapes rendered in real-time with detailed, accurate physics and ballistics systems and true line-of-sight provide realistic combat. There are no “hit points”, limited view distances, unrealistically short weapon ranges, or other gross simplifications that are typical of many other sci-fi games. DropTeam can be played online on a public server with up to 16 players, or it can be played privately with as few as 2 players, as well as single-player vs. AI opponents. AI opponents can also be mixed in with human players in order to make the teams any size you like. DropTeam runs on Mac OS-X, Linux, and Windows 98/ME/2000/XP License: commercial
