FGSD is an OpenSource interactive program that allow its user to design custom sceneries for the FlightGear flight simulator project. It is developed under the terms of the GNU General Public License

FlightGear has already sceneries for the whole Earth ( see here ) but usually, available free data are too coarse to make realistic views of the world, especially for land outside the USA.

The basic idea is to use scan of commercial maps and other bitmap data to help users to draw features on top of the image layer. Features includes static 3D objects (buildings for instance), height (hypso) curves, land use contours, roads, railways and powerlines, water area or streams.

This is a patch for kernel 2.4.19 which enables force feedback for the microsoft sidewinder 2 joystick. The homepage provides an utility to test this driver.

Force feedback is a means of providing more realism/sensations by using the sense of touch. Only I-Force2 compliant joystick and wheels are supported. This driver is not intended to support other force-feedback devices, such as mice.

The driver is included in the kernel starting from kernel 2.5.25.

GL O.B.S. is based around a PyGTK interface that launches OpenGL programs feeding them with a common CLI options set which will affect their behaviour, then receives back their statistical output. Benchmarks are easy to create and add.
