Megazeux

Game Homepage
Game creation system based on the classic ASCII text-based game ZZT

Megazeux is a game creation system inspired by ZZT, a game with ASCII graphics and a simple scripting language called ZZT-OOP. Megazeux expands on ZZT by having editable fonts and palette colors, a more flexible scripting language and gameplay, and support for MOD music in a wide variety of formats, while also supporting OGGs in later versions.

The original shareware release included the default game, Caverns of Zeux, but many of its users have created a wide variety of games for it which can be downloaded from the homepage. There are also contests as well, such as the semiannual Dualstream Day of Zeux (DSDoz).

Mumble

Mumble

Game Homepage
Low-latency, high-quality voice communication for gamers

Mumble is a low-latency, high quality voice chat application intended for use alongside computer games.

    Its primary features are:
  • Very low latency.
  • Denoising of audio.
  • Automatic volume control so all players are equally loud.
  • Unlimited number of channels with as deep a nesting as desired.
  • Per-channel groups and access control lists.
  • In-game overlay showing users status.

The design goal of mumble is to have audio quality just as good as if you were sitting in the same room, a goal that has largely been achieved. Current emphasis is on interchannel communication, to enable a mumble-connected community to work better than if they were in the same room.

Myth II Metaserver

Game Homepage
The metaserver for hosting, ranking and organizing online Myth II games

This is the raw Myth II metaserver source code, stripped of a few proprietary bits of code, but still run-able. You can modify it in any way you want and use it for most anything you want. The only real conditions are that you don't then try to sell it and that you leave all the copyright and other legal notices with the code. Be sure to read the short, but very legal license agreement that comes with it before going nuts, but afterwards, go nuts.

The Myth Vault site will serve as a central location for the Myth game server development community, with a forum for people interested in discussing the code and the possibilities. In the future this site may also offer links to fan run servers, leader boards, order databases, whatever--that's all up to you.

netBrush

netBrush

Game Homepage
netBrush is a simple network based paint program.

This means it allows multiple people to draw on the same canvas at the same time. The feature set of netBrush includes a variable sized canvas and paintbrush and airbrush tools, changing brush size, hardness, color, opacity, etc. is also possible. You can also record and play back events send to the server as well as manipulate them, for example to scale up an image.

netBrush is based on SDL and doesn't use any external widget libraries, so it should be reasonably portable. In addition to the base SDL library netBrush also uses scons, SDL_net and SDL_image.
