Description :
![]() Play games created with Sphere. Sphere is a tool for making games with a few clicks and a few (Java) Scripts. The games can be made with the editor in Windows, or using the wxEditor for linux that is still in beta. The windows version of Sphere supports different graphics drivers such as OpenGL, GDI, or DirectX. For Linux, it uses SDL and supports a few minor settings. Sphere has been developed for years, to be precise, since 1997. The source code has since grown to 253 830 lines in over 1000 files (243 lines per file avg. if you're a nerd), and the main author (Chad Austin) has also written 2 additional libraries from scratch that have been embedded in Sphere. Don't waste time coding a 2d engine, use Sphere! Note: You need to build from CVS to get the engine running for linux. You can get live support on irc @ esper.net/#sphere. First RTFM though.
