Game Homepage Tested under wine-20050111. 1) Mount the first cd and execute the setup program. 2) If the installation is around 50% the setup program asks for the 2nd disk. 2a) open a new console. unmount the cdrom and eject it. 2b) insert disc 2 and mount it. 2c) click in the setup program to continue installing. 3) After installation get the MFC42.DLL from www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/fortune/570/mfc42.html 4) Unpack the DLL and place it in your fake_windows system directory. 5) insert and mount the 3rd cdrom. Launch the game from the programs directory in your fake_windows. 6) First you get a configure screen. Set rendering to OpenGL. And adjust the other settings to your wishes (sound: use DirectX software emulation). 7) The configure program crashed here, so I had to restart the game, just like I did before. Now you can play the game. Have fun.

Game Homepage To run World of Warcraft on a Gentoo system, you will need, at the very least, an X server, graphics drivers, and wine. While any version of Wine will work to an extent, it's better to use the newest Wine package available in portage. As of this writing, the newest version of Wine is 0.9.45. This version provides many performance benefits over previous versions. This same principle carries over for video drivers. If you own an nVidia or ATi video card, you should consider unmasking and installing the newest drivers available in portage. If you are working with a non-standard configuration and find that you want to attempt some of the patches mentioned in this HOWTO, you will need to create a portage overlay. Game Homepage A promising roguelike game. ADOM is a character-cell-based roguelike game along the lines of angband and moria. The commands are not quite consistent with nethack ('D' to quaff a potion, for example). The cursor keys don't work in an xterm, and there is no option to use a roguelike command set, so I ended up using the 1-9 number keys on the main keyboard. Since this was annoying, I haven't played the game enough to give it a fair rating. But it appears to have a rich skill set, and otherwise looks promising. License: free
